WPEC buys a boat, meet Marine Watch 12…

West Palm Beach station WPEC has added a new toy to its collection. The station debuted “Marine Watch 12.”

The new “news boat” will be used to cover anything aqua-related and will be used in tandem with WPEC’s news drone fleet.

More WFLA news on WTTA…

In a press release to Florida News Center, Tampa’s WFLA announced that it will expand it’s morning news programmin0g offerings.

The new extended version of News Channel 8 today will now air from 7am to 9am on sister station WTTA.

Currently, WFLA broadcasts AM news from 4:30-7am, with occasional local cut-ins during NBC’s national morning show, Today. Read the rest of this entry →

Bob Kealing to depart WESH….

(edited from OrlandoSentinel.com) – After nearly 25 years at Orlando’s WESH, reporter Bob Kealing is departing to focus on other projects. His final day at the station will be Friday.

His 25th anniversary at WESH would be in July. He revealed his news via Facebook Monday night. He wrote:

“Friday will be my last day at WESH-TV. After 25 years of unforgettable stories and working with a fantastic group of people, I’d like to take a step back and refocus my career.Short term, I’m excited about some opportunities tied to my work as a published author. I also plan to further my historic preservation pursuits through two  nonprofits I’ve been close to for years: the Jack Kerouac Project of Orlando and Gram Parsons’ Derry Down in Winter Haven. I’m so thankful to all my friends at WESH and I know those friendships will continue. Now, it’s on to new adventures!”….Cont….

Niurma Sanchez departs WSCV…

(edited from TVSpy.com) – WSCV meteorologist, Niurma Sánchez, is leaving Miami Telemundo station and heading to Denver.

KDEN-TV announced today that she will be the stations new Noticiero Telemundo Denver weather anchor.

Sánchez worked as a freelance meteorologist at Telemundo 51-WSCV since 2016.  Prior to that, she worked at the Cuban Institute of Meteorology….Cont….
