WTVJ GM headed for DC?

(from DCRTV.com) – DCRTV hears that a rumor making rounds is that former Channel 9/WUSA General Manager Ardy Diercks is on the short list for the GM spot at NBC’s Channel 4/WRC. She is currently the GM at NBC-owned WTVJ-TV in Miami, where she went after leaving Gannett, which owns WUSA. You may recall that WTVJ was to be part of a history making deal, selling the station to the Washington Post’s Post Newsweek broadcast arm and combining both stations staffs at Miami’s crosstown WPLG-TV, which is owned by PN. “A large number of people deserted WTVJ during this period, but the deal ultimately feel through due to the bad economy, leaving WTVJ in a shambles,” we’re told. “The station has not recovered and usually finishes at the bottom of the ratings heap. It would be a good time to get out of town for Ms. Diercks, and come take over a winning operation at WRC.” Michael Jacks, WRC’s former GM, recently moved to NBC’s WNBC-TV in NYC

WFTV highlighted its dominance in time slots. WESH said it was edging closer to WFTV and pulling away from WKMG-Ch. 6 and WOFL-Ch. 35. WESH also said its 4 p.m. had pulled ahead of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in total viewers — Winfrey was in reruns.

These results are based on the 25-to-54 age group, which is most important to advertisers. Here’s how the stations placed in some important time slots….Cont….
