More news for, anchor changes at WFLA/WTTA…

Tampa’s WFLA announced today that the station would begin producing a nightly, hour-long live 8 p.m. newscast, which will air on Media General sister station WTTA Great 38. The new newscast begins on January 4 and will be anchored by Jenn (Jennifer) Holloway & Josh Benson, with weather by Julie Philips.

This new newscast on WTTA will be market’s first and only 8 p.m. newscast. Currently, WFLA offers a live 30 minute 7 p.m. newscast on WFLA proper, anchored by Jennifer Leigh.

Jenn Holloway comes to the WFLA/WTTA anchor desk from across the hall at WFLA’s syndicated morning show Daytime, where she is a co-host. As Florida News Center reported, she recently anchored a short-lived half-hour newscast, which aired at 7 p.m. on Sunday nights on WTTA.

In addition to co-anchoring the new newscast, Josh Benson will continue to co-anchor WFLA’s 4 p.m. weekday newscast. Meteorologist Julie Phillips moves from weekend evenings to the weekdays, to anchor the weather on the WFLA 4 p.m. and the new WTTA 8 p.m. newscast.

Stay tuned for any further developments.
