Brendan McLaughlin joins WFLA…

Florida News Center readers noticed a familiar face on WFLA today. Tampa TV veteran Brendan McLaughlin joined the station today as a “political observer.” He was seen commenting on his recent road trip across America, and about the election on the 4, 5 and 6 p.m. newscasts.

WFLA lead anchor Keith Cate mentioned on air that McLaughlin would be at the station today and tomorrow (11/7-11/8), election day. However, we suspect that he will stay on at the station for special projects.

McLaughlin was most recently lead anchor across town at WFTS. He signed off in Dec of 2015, after a 21 year run at the station. At the time, he stated on Facebook that he would take a “six month sabbatical, followed by a return to productive and meaningful work.”
