Sources tell Florida News Center that Russell Motley has been named as the new evening anchor at Tallahassee’s WTXL. Motley fills the anchor chair, recently opened after the firing of anchor Michael Dupre (as reported by FNC back in August). Unlike Dupre, Motley will co-anchor the entire evening newscast line-up, from 5-6:30pm with Anne Imanuel, but will solo the 11pm newscast.
Motley has over twenty years in television news and just recently earned a Masters Degree from Florida A&M University. He most recently worked at Jacksonville’s WTEV/WAWS, before being let go in 2007 during reorganization at the duopoly.
