(from OrlandoSentinel.com) – October ratings news flash: We actually have a race.
Usually, WFTV-Ch. 9 enjoys a comfortable margin of victory in most time slots. But for the October period, which ended Wednesday, WESH-Ch. 2 is claiming a victory.
Of course, it depends on how the time period is counted. That time period is 6 a.m. weekdays.
In the 25-to-54 age group, which is most important to advertisers, WFTV averages 31,800 viewers. WESH pulls in 26,700. But WESH also simulcasts the news on sister station WKCF-Ch. 18, which draws 5,400 additional viewers. So more 25-to-54 viewers — 32,100 in all — are seeing the WESH news.
A 300-viewer margin of victory might not seem that big a deal, but WFTV’s competitors are happy to trumpet any success. WESH also cited growth at 5 p.m.
Otherwise, WFTV scored clear victories in many time slots. Here are some more numbers for the 25-to-54 age group….Cont….
