Readers of Florida News Center might remember that Wegmann was previously lead female anchor at WFTX until she departed the station in of 2012 to help her husband, former WINK-TV anchor and radio talk show host Trey Radel, run for Congress. Radel won his seat in Congress in late 2012, but resigned that seat at the end of 2013 after being caught in a cocaine buying sting. She went back to WFTX in early 2014, working on the morning shift.
