Antonio Mora to Al Jazeera…

(from TVSpy.com) – Former WFOR anchor Antonio Mora is joining Al Jazeera America to host a nightly current affairs talk show.

Mora left the Miami CBS O&O in December after his contract was not renewed. He has also previously worked at ABC News and WBBM, the CBS O&O in Chicago.

Antonio Mora out at WFOR…

(from GossipExtra.com) – Antonio Mora, a weekday prime-time anchor at WFOR-Channel 4in Miami/Fort Lauderdale, was let go Monday after station honchos refused to renew his contract.

The happy-go-lucky Mora, 57, was the solo anchor of the station’s 6 p.m. news.

Mora didn’t return calls to his Coral Gables home, and his page on the station’s website was taken down first thing Monday morning.

While he refused to discuss personnel matters, CBS 4 spokesman Lee Zimmerman issued this statement: “Antonio has been a valued member of the CBS4 News team throughout his five years here.  We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”….Cont…

Anchor swap at WFOR…

(from MiamiHerald.com) – On Monday, WFOR-TV/CBS4 switched up its anchor lineup, putting Eliott Rodriguez (right #1) back in the 11 p.m. newscast, co-anchoring with Shannon Hori. The duo will also be co-anchoring the hour-long evening newscast from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Hori’s previous 11 p.m. co-anchor, Antonio Mora, (right #2) is now the solo anchor for the half-hour 6 p.m. newscast. He used to co-anchor that timeslot with Hori.

The amount of newscasts remains the same, and WFOR didn’t drop any anchors. But the switch means viewers will be seeing an hour less of Mora as anchor during weekday afternoons and evenings….Cont….
