(from TBO.com) - Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback and ESPN football analyst Shaun King has joined Bright House Sports Network, the network announced Thursday.

A 1995 graduate of Gibbs High School in St. Petersburg, King will be an analyst for the network’s high school, college and pro football coverage. King will also contribute to the network’s daily sports shows, “The Lineup” and “Toyota Sports Connection.”

Paul Kosuth, general manager of Bright House Sports Network, said “King is a proven analyst.  His experience with ESPN complements our efforts to deliver the best in local sports coverage.”….Cont….

Just a day after we learned that Bay News 9 anchor Leigh Moody had been fired from the 24hr cable only station, the emails started coming in. Sources tell Florida News Center that sports reporter/anchor Joe Girvan has also gotten the axe from Bay News 9/Bright House Sports Network. Stay tuned for any further departures or developments.

(from OrlandoSentinel.com) – Former UCF quarterback Kyle Alden Israel was arrested Tuesday and charged with driving while under the influence, according to Orange County jail records. Israel, a University High graduate who led the Knights to the 2007 Conference USA championship, played professional football earlier this year in Germany. He returned to the Orlando area during the fall and worked as a color commentator for Bright House Sports Network. Israel was arrested in the university area by UCF police. He has posted bond and been released from the Orange County jail.

Sources tell Florida News Center that reporter/anchor Roxanne Wilder is out at Bright House Sports Network. Her bio is gone from the BHSN (Bay News 9) website. However, we found it here. So far there’s no word on why Widler has departed the station or who if anyone will assume her position. Bright House Sports Network is a cable only channel for Bright House cable customers in Tampa and Orlando markets and provides sports coverage/shows/specials for Bay News 9 and Central Florida News 13.
