8/1/10 – UPDATE: Sources at WFLA tell Florida News Center that Bob Hite will NOT be returning to the station to fill-in, as we reported below.
Sources tell our friends at NewsBlues.com that retired WFLA anchor Bob Hite is returing to the station. He will severe as fill-in anchor for anchors taking a summer vacation. He retired from WFLA in Nov 2007, ending a thirty year tenure at the Tampa station. Welcome back Bob!
(image/story from TBO.com) - Bob Hite surprised WFLA-TV News viewers and former colleagues when he dropped in for a St. Patrick’s Day visit to the NBC affiliate. He sat beside anchor Stacie Schaible and “stole” some lines from Keith Cate during the 5:30 p.m. newscast. Hite read some light-hearted stories from the show’s “Around the World” segment. Hite, who retired in December 2007 after 30 years at the station, was in Tampa for a charity event to benefit the American Victory Ship tied up in Channelside….Cont….
