Just when you think you’ve escaped the panhandle…

As Florida News Center reported several weeks ago, blondiful WJHG morning show anchor Elizabeth Prann has left the station to join the Atlanta bureau of Fox News. Just when the new Fox News reporter had escaped the panhandle, we learn that she has business to deal with back in Panama City.

On 1/27/10 Prann was pulled over by Panama City Beach Police for driving “30mph or more” over the posted speed limit. This violation carries a fine to be set by the judge, four points on her license and a mandatory appearance in court.  Prann secured an attorney to appear on her behalf and filed a written not-guilty plea on 2/5/10. The violation fine was assessed at $350 and her future trial date is to be determined. Usually a good ($$$) attorney can help clear away most if not all of the license points and/or possible community service/jail time. Stay tuned…

Moving on up at WJHG…

UPDATE: Prann is joining the Atlanta bureau of Fox News, not WAGA-TV.

Sources tell Florida News Center that WJHG morning anchor Elizabeth Prann is leaving the Panama City station. She is headed to join Atlanta’s Fox O&O WAGA-TV. She leaves WJHG while not under contract (which expired back in 2009) and just as the station’s morning newscasts were gaining ground. Recent Panama City ratings show WJHG gaining and even head to head with competitor WMBB.

Sources also mention other changes at WJHG —– Morning and noon meteorologist Jim Loznicka earns the seal of Certified Broadcast Meteorologist by the American Meteorological Society. —– Internet and special features producer Nicole Morten has been promoted to morning reporter. No word was given on a state date for her new duties. Stay tuned to Florida News Center for further information.
