Anchor moves and new talent at WTVJ…

(edited from MiamiHerland.com) – Miami’s WTVJ is making changes in its newscast lineups and announced some key anchor moves.

Starting next Wednesday, Jawan Strader will join Jackie Nespral to co-anchor the news at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. Strader joined NBC 6 in 2012 and has anchored the morning news since February 2013. Adam Kuperstein will join Trina Robinson to co-anchor the news at 5:30 p.m. At 11 p.m., Kuperstein will return to his sports roots.

Also, starting Tuesday, Eric Harryman (right) will join Pam Giganti to co-anchor weekdays from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. Harryman will also co-anchor the news at 11 a.m. with Trina Robinson. Harryman comes to NBC 6 from FOX Sacramento, where he was the evening anchor; he has also worked at television stations in CO, UT, VA and CA….Cont….

WTVJ does the anchor shuffle…

(from TVSpy.com) - WTVJ, the NBC-owned station in South Florida, is shuffling weekend and weekday anchors.

Beginning today, Jawan Strader (right #2) replaces Keith Jones (right #1) as co-anchor of the weekday morning newscast. Strader joined WTVJ in August after a decade at rival WFOR, where he was also the morning anchor. At WTVJ, Strader will join Pam Giganti at the anchor desk.

Jones will shift to weekends, where he will take Strader’s place anchoring the 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts on Saturday and Sunday….Cont….

Jawan Strader to WTVJ…

(from TVSpy.com) – Jawan Strader has been named Weekend Evening anchor and reporter at NBC6 South Florida. Strader joins the station from crosstown rival, CBS-owned WFOR where he spent the last 10 years, most recently anchoring mornings.

Before South Florida, Strader was an anchor/reporter at WOIO and WKYC in Cleveland….Cont….

Ally to mornings at WFOR…

(from MiamiHerald.com) – Set that alarm clock: WFOR-TV/CBS4 has named Kansas City native Rhiannon Ally as its new morning co-anchor. Ally came from WCBS-TV in New York and starts her gig Monday, joining the early bird shift, 5-7 a.m. The team already consists of co-anchor Jawan Strader, meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez and traffic ace Vanessa Borge.
