(from TBO.com) – Kristin Wright, a general assignment reporter at WTVT, Channel 13, was named today as weekend anchor for Fox 13.

Wright, who has been filling in for the past few weeks, replaces former anchor Nerissa Prest.

Wright, 33, was married last month. Her husband Gregory is an English teacher.

She says she will still be reporting for three days a week. “It’s perfect for me because I like getting out on the street and meeting people and doing stories,” she says.

Fox 13 News Director John Hoffman says, “We are very proud of Kristin, her contributions to the station and the community. We look forward to seeing her succeed in this new role.”….Cont….

(from TampaBay.com) – Prest’s last day on air as an anchor at Tampa’s Fox affiliate WTVT-Ch. 13 was Aug. 21; she left the company’s employ six days later. But news is only breaking now that the former anchor of WTVT’s weekend morning newscasts has left the station. Late as last week, some of her co-workers didn’t know that she had left.

“We mutually parted ways,” said Prest, noting she was bound by a confidentiality agreement from saying much about what happened. “It was time for me to move on to the next chapter.”….Cont….

The move comes months after the station extended its Good Day Tampa Bay weekday morning newscasts, establishing a 4:30 a.m. program amid increasing competition in the timeslot.
