(edited from News-Press.com) - Good news for Katie LaGrone. The former WBBH NBC2 and WZVN ABC7 reporter recently moved to West Palm Beach after her husband, former NBC2 anchor Paul LaGrone, took a morning anchor job at WPBF.
Now comes word that Katie has landed a new TV job herself. She’s been hired as an investigative reporter at WPTV-TV, the local NBC station. The couple will find themselves competing against each other, but between his early a.m. hours and their toddler son, Jacob, this likely won’t be a problem.
(edited from News-Press.com) - A couple of weeks back, the News-Press wrote about the imminent departure of WBBH NBC2 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. anchor Paul LaGrone and his wife, NBC2 reporter Katie LaGrone. At the time, it wasn’t being revealed where the couple was moving.
Turns out, they are headed to the West Palm Beach area, where Paul will be the new morning anchor on WPBF-TV, the ABC station there. Katie is also pursuing TV news opportunities in the market.
The move is a sensitive one because Paul will be taking over on a show once hosted by the popular anchorwoman Kristin Hoke, who is in an ongoing battle with breast cancer. It’s been an emotional roller coaster for Hoke’s WPBF co-workers as well as her many fans.
Best of luck to Paul and Katie (and their 18-month-old son, Jacob) and, while we’re at it, prayers for Kristin. (edited from News-Press.com)
(from News-Press.com) - A local TV power couple is leaving the market. WBBH NBC2 anchorman Paul LaGrone and his wife, NBC2 reporter Katie LaGrone, are packing up at the end of the month and heading off to new pastures. Paul has gotten a new anchor job in another city. However, the details of the job haven’t been formally announced yet. There’s a reason for things being hush-hush and I’ll explain down the line.
Meanwhile, WFTX Fox4 has a new reporter — Matt Grant. He worked as an investigative reporter at KRCG-TV, the CBS station in Jefferson City, Mo.
