Anchor changes at WTSP, WZVN…

Just a day after it was announced that Heather Van Nest was leaving WTSP, the station has already named her replacement.

Dion Lim, who joined the Tampa market station this past January, has been named as the new lead female co-anchor. She will anchor the 6:00 and 11:oopm newscasts at the station.

This change has been apparently in the works for sometime, even as Van Nest’s departure from the station came suddenly. Van Nest’s departure announcement was made on Thursday and by Friday, ads for the new lead anchor team of Reginald Roundtree, Dion Lim and meteorologist Jim Van Fleet were already gracing digital billboards around the Tampa Bay area.

Florida News Center has learned that Dion Lim’s replacement on the 5:00 and 5:30pm newscasts has already been named as well. Courtney Robinson joins the station, coming from Fort Myer’s WZVN.

Robinson joined WZVN in July of 2011, as the station’s new lead female co-anchor.

So, who will replace Robinson at WZVN? Are there any more changes coming to WTSP? Stay tuned…

Heather Van Nest departs WTSP…

(edited from TampaBay.com) – Heather Van Nest has left as an evening news anchor at CBS affiliate WTSP-Ch. 10.

Van Nest posted a message on Facebook Wednesday afternoon thanking her viewers.

“I am excited for new work opportunities that allow for more flexibility in my family life,” she wrote. “Working until midnight with a 1-year-old son, 3-year-old daughter and husband at home is not ideal.”

Van Nest had been missing on air for several days, fueling speculation that her contract with the station hadn’t been renewed.

Messages left with the station’s general manager, Elliott Wiser, weren’t returned. Co-anchor Reginald Roundtree said he couldn’t comment. On Wednesday, Van Nest’s photo was quickly removed from WTSP’s website….Cont….

Roundtree faces second foreclosure suit…

(from TampaBay.com) – For the second time this year, creditors have filed a lawsuit to foreclose on property owned by WTSP-Ch. 10 anchor Reginald Roundtree, most recently involving an Oldsmar home with debt alleged to top $580,000. The lawsuit says Roundtree and investment partner Lisa Schulz bought the home in February 2007 from David and Dana Carter, who now live in Hendersonville, N.C. The suit says the anchor and his partner gave the Carters a promissory note valued at $585,000, but stopped making payments in December 2008, failed to purchase home insurance and failed to pay 2007 and 2008 property taxes. Roundtree, 51, who has served as WTSP’s top male anchor since 1998, said he hopes to sell the house…Cont…
