(from OrlandoSentinel.com) – Stan Knott, the general manager at WOFL-Ch. 35 and WRBW-Ch. 65, has announced that he is leaving the stations in mid-August.

Several staffers said that Knott made the announcement at a meeting this week. Knott unveiled fall plans for the Central Florida stations, then told the staff that he wouldn’t be part of them.

Knott this morning confirmed his departure, but said he had nothing to add at this time.

One staffer said Knott slipped in his news as the staff meeting ended and explained that it was time for him to move on.

When asked about a replacement, a station spokesperson said, “We will be conducting an extensive search internally and externally”…..Cont….

(from OrlandoSentinel.com) -?WOFL has elevated Jeff Zeller to vice president and news director. He has been the Fox-owned station’s assistant news director for three and a half years. Before that, he worked at WPXI in Pittsburgh for six years, and before that, at WHIO in Dayton, Ohio, for two years. Zeller will report to General Manager Stan Knott, who announced the promotion today. Knott praised Zeller as “a seasoned news professional” and “a valuable asset to our news team.” In his new position, Zeller will oversee editorial, business and administrative functions for the news department.
