(edited from – The Telemundo Station Group today announced an expansion of its local news programming, unveiling plans to launch a new 30-minute newscast that will air weekdays at 5 p.m. ET beginning Monday, Sept. 26, at 14 of its owned stations.

The stations that will the new half-hour newscast are in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, San Antonio, Phoenix, Tuscon, Brownsville, Denver, Philadelphia, and Las Vegas.…Cont….

Telemuno staffer killed in Orlando massacre….

(edited from – Among the 49 people murdered at Pulse nightclub early Sunday morning was 24-year-old Jonathan Antonio Camuy Vega. Camuy Vega worked on the Telemundo show La Voz Kids, which is produced in Orlando.

“We want to extend our thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences to Jonathan’s family and friends,” said Cesar Conde, Chairman of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. “He was a great assistant producer and had been working with us since Yo Soy el Artista and previously at Telemundo Puerto Rico. Denise Isaac departs NBC Miami properties…

WSCV weekday morning and WTVJ fill-in meteorologist Denise Isaac has departed the Miami stations.

She has joined the Detroit, MI duopoly of WXYZ/WYMD-TV.

While in Miami, she was also weather reporter for the Telemundo national network morning show Un Nuevo Dia.

Prior to her stint at the NBC/Comcast properties in Miami, she was a producer and reporter for WeatherNation in Minnesota.

Ambrosio Hernandez departs WSCV/joins WLTV…

(edited from – Longtime WSCV Telemundo 51 anchor Ambrosio Hernández, who resigned from the Miami station on Friday, is now officially an employee of competitor WLTV Univision 23.

He will sit out a non-compete clause in his contract and will sign-on at WLTV in the fall.

New graphics at WSCV….

Miami Telemundo affiliate WSCV unveiled their new graphics package last week. The new look, now follows that of the Telemundo network and the rest of its O&O stations. Along with the new graphics, comes new music.
