Mark Collins back to WJXT…

(edited from WJXT Press Release) – Meteorologist Mark Collins returns to WJXT, in time for Hurricane Hermine coverage.  He was a fill-in meteorologist and a weather producer at WJXT from 2010-2011 and across town at the duopoly of WTLV/WJXX before that.

He left WJXT in 2011 to anchor weekend weather at WTSP in Tampa.  Recently he worked at the Florida Institute of Oceanography aboard research vessels studying Florida’s marine ecosystems. Read the rest of this entry →

Adrienne Pedersen departs WFLA…

Weekend anchor and weekday morning reporter Adrienne Pedersen has departed Tampa’s WFLA.

She is headed to Milwaukee, WI to join WISN-TV as an anchor/reporter.

Pedersen joined WFLA in 2010, coming from KOMU-TV in Columbia, MO.

A new weather toy for WFLA…

WFLA posts wins in July…

In a press release to Florida News Center, Tampa’s WFLA announced that the Tampa station made some great strides in the July ratings book.

WFLA was pleased to brag that the station placed number one against competing newscasts at 5pm, 5:30pm, 6pm, and 11pm newscasts, with non-competing newscasts at 4pm and 7pm beating syndicated programming.

Insiders tell us that in the mornings, WTVT still reigns, followed by WFTS and WFLA. Read the rest of this entry →

Josh Thomas departs WFLA…

(edited from – WFLA reporter Josh Thomas no longer works at the Tampa station.

Thomas, who went from being weekend anchor to reporter last year, has been gone from the station for a couple of weeks. There’s no word why he left or where he’s going.

His move off the anchor desk, as reported by Florida News Center, along with morning anchor Rod Carter being replaced by Eugene Ramirez, was questioned by the Tampa Association of Black Journalists Read the rest of this entry →
