Kate Wentzel departs WTSP…

UPDATE: 03/20/17 – Kate Wentzel will be the new meteorologist at West Palm Beach’s WPEC.
03/07/17 – WTSP meteorologist Kate Wentzel announced that she is leaving the Tampa station.

Sources tell Florida News Center, that she is headed back to West Palm Beach. However, no specific station was identified.

She signed on with the station in September of 2011, coming from WPBF in West Palm Beach.

Travis Sherwin to N/D at WPBF..,.

(edited from TVSpy.com) – Assistant news director Travis Sherwin has been promoted to news director at WPBF.

He has been AND at the West Palm Beach station for the past three years. He was previous special projects producer at Orlando Hearst sister station, WESH. He worked at Fort Myers and Casper, WY before that.

Former WPBF director found naked, dies…

died at a hospital on Saturday while in custody with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. Officers found him incoherent and naked in the water at the park, along State Road A1A at the border of Indian River and Brevard counties.

A spokeswoman with the sheriff’s office said Robinson seemed to be under the influence of an undetermined substance. His death is still under investigation. Read the rest of this entry →

Mark Kelly to mornings at WPBF….

WPBF announced that Mark Kelly has been named as the West Palm Beach station’s new morning anchor.

Kelly will start on the air tomorrow, 8/2.

He comes to the anchor desk as a reporter from KPIX in San Francisco. Before that he worked at WSET in the Roanoke, VA market.
