The LaGrone’s to depart WPB, headed to Tampa… reports that WPTV reporter Katie LaGrone and her husband, WPBF morning anchor Paul LaGrone are leaving the West Palm Beach market.

The couple are headed to Tampa, where Paul already has an anchor job lined up with WFTS. Katie is in current negotiations with an employer in the same area.

Katie told GossipExtra that they are leaving West Palm Beach because “Paul’s family lives in Tampa and he’s getting a great job.”

Readers of this website might recall that the LaGrone’s were investigated for child neglect by the Palm Beach County Sherriff’s Office. Read the rest of this entry →

WPTV claims November ’15 sweeps win…

(from – WPTV, the Scripps NBC affiliate in West Palm Beach, Fla., says it was No. 1 in households in all morning and evening newscasts during November.

But it was particularly tight at 11 p.m., according to Christine Baron, WPTV’s creative services director.

Jimmie Johnson joins WPBF…

(edited from – Jimmie Johnson is joining WPTV as the station’s new reporter. He will sign-on at the West Palm Beach station on Nov 30th.

He comes to WPBF from KAUZ-TV in Wichita Falls, TX, where has worked since 2013.

“I look forward to bringing residents along the Gold and Treasure Coast, ‘Live. Local. Late Breaking News,’” Johnson wrote on his Facebook page.

Hearst stations partner with The Weather Channel…

(from – Twenty-two Hearst stations (including FL affiliates WESH/WKCF in Orlando and WPBF in West Palm Beach) are partnering with The Weather Channel give viewers expanded weather information and help local business more directly market to consumers.

Local stations will be able to target the user base of The Weather Channel online and mobile applications based on the user’s location or on the weather based on “sophisticated triggers that take into account sales activity in addition to weather conditions.”….Cont….

Who says you can’t kick a football in high-heels? Check out this promo via WBPF meteorologist Sandra Shaw. I never understood how women can walk and move so easily on high-heels. As beautiful as they are, they seem torturous and ridiculous – I’d break an ankle!
