Noreen Parker named GM at WTTA…

(from TVSpy.com) – Noreen Parker is stepping into the role of general manager at WTTA, Sinclair’s MyNetworkTV affiliate in Tampa.

Since 2009, Parker has been corporate director of news and digital sales for Bright House Networks. She is a former general manager of WTSP, the CBS affiliate in Tampa.

“Noreen brings strong, sales leadership skills and television station management experience,” Sinclair COO Steve Marks said in a statement….Cont….

Sinclair warns of Dish carriage dispute…

(from MediaPost.com) – Sinclair Broadcast Group, the largest group of independent TV stations (including Florida’s WPEC, WEAR, WTWC, WTVX, WTTA), is giving some fair warning about upcoming carriage negotiations with TV satellite provider Dish Network: Things are not going so well.

Sinclair’s retrans deal with Dish is due to expire on August 15.

In a release, Sinclair says: “Although Sinclair is continuing to negotiate with Dish over the terms of a new agreement, Sinclair believes significant doubt exists as to whether or not a new agreement will be reached with Dish.”

(from TVNewsCheck.com) -Sinclair Broadcast Group today reported financial results for the three months ended March 31. Net broadcast revenues from continuing operations were $155.9 million, an increase of 5.4% versus the prior year period result of $147.9 million. The company had operating income of $50.5 million in the quarter, as compared to operating income of $45.6 million a year earlier. Net income attributable to Sinclair was $15.3 million versus $11.5 million in the prior year period.

Ask for a raise – Sinclair up in Q4…

(from TVNewsCheck.com) – Sinclair Broadcast Group today reported financial results for the three months ended Dec. 31, 2010. Net broadcast revenues from continuing operations were $189.9 million, an increase of 23.5% versus the prior year period result of $153.9 million.

The company had operating income of $81.3 million, as compared to an operating loss of $66.1 million in the prior year period. It reported net income of $33.1 million versus a net loss of $67.8 million in the prior year period.

Political revenues were $26.8 million in the fourth quarter 2010 versus $4.1 million in fourth quarter 2009. For the 2010 year, political revenues hit an all-time high of $41.9 million, which was a 34.9% increase over 2006’s and a 2% increase over 2008’s political revenues….Cont….
